# How to start conversations that get results

This one is a fine little book. It details not only why, but also how conversations should be concise, clear and get to the point quickly.
Simple and to the point is always the best way to get your point across.
It made me very conscious of how I start conversations as well as write emails or use slack.
The book breaks the first minute down into two parts:
Framing is the setting of context, intent and the key message. Starting with this will make sure the recipient is well prepared to received and focus what you are about to say.
After that, before the main discussion, a summary is used in the form of: Goal > Problem > Solution.
If we add in validation checkpoints, we can make sure that the recipient of the message is able and available.
